Yahya Elshimali, M.D. FCAP, FASCP, Dr. Elshimali is associate professor of Medicine and Pathology at Charles Drew University and UCLA School of medicine. He is certified by the American board of Pathology for Anatomic and Clinical Pathology with subspecialty in Surgical Pathology, Molecular and genetic Medicine. He is an expert on pharmaceutical oncology, clinical trials and Liquid Biopsy for Circulating biomarkers including tumor cells, cell free DNA and RNA. Dr. Elshimali has played an important role in biomarker research at the Division of Cancer Research at CDU/UCLA. His research focuses on cancer metabolism, DNA Micro Array and Tissue Micro Array (TMA) development for multiplex histological analysis on tissue sections and clinical translational research. Dr. Elshimali serves as team leader inspector for the College of American Pathologists (CAP), and he is a member of many professional societies including CAP, ASCP, AACR, AMP and ASHG. Dr. Elshimali is editor for several peer reviewed journals and he is international speaker with an impressive repertoire of publications including book chapters, abstracts, articles, and case reports.
