Maduike, Chiehiura. Onwubiko Ezeibe is a professor of Veterinary Medicine and clinical virology at Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Umudike, Nigeria. He holds DVM, MSc (Ruminants medicine) and PhD (Canine medicine) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He is also a Fellow, College of Veterinary Surgeons, Nigeria (FCVSN), specializing in laboratory animals` medicine (using animals for experimental medical studies). By studying role of electrical charges of Nanoparticles of molecules of Aluminum-magnesium silicate in its mechanism as a pharmaceutical binder used in making medicine-tablets, he invented Medicinal synthetic Aluminum–magnesium silicate® (MSAMS) which uses bonding of the Nanoparticles to pathogens of opposite electrical charges, as a mechanism of action against electrically charged disease-agents. Electrically charged disease-agents which the MSAMS has proved effective against include, Human immune deficiency virus, Hepatitis B virus, Hepatitis C virus, Measles virus, Avian Influenza virus, Canine Parvovirus, Peste des petits ruminants virus, Egg-drop syndrome virus, Fowl pox virus, Newcastle disease virus, Infectious bursa disease virus and cancer-cells. MSAMS is also an adjuvant, used for enhancing efficacy of antimicrobials. Professor Ezeibe has authored a book also titled The Medicinal Synthetic Aluminum-magnesium Silicate {Al2Mg3 (SiO4)3}. To his credit, also, are six other patents, two other books and many journal/conference publications.
