Dr. Farjana Sultana joined the IUBAT University in May 2010, as a Faculty member. Dr. Sultana is specialized on biological control of plant diseases, an exceptionally environment friendly technique. Dr. Sultana achieved her bachelor degree from Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh (BAU) in 2003 and same year she went to Japan for post graduation. She did her MS and PhD at Gifu University, Japan in 2006 and 2009, respectively. During the course of her MS and PhD research, she had identified several genes which are responsible for inducing systemic resistance in plants by Plant Growth Promoting Fungus (PGPF). Immediately after her graduation, she came back to Bangladesh. She is continuing the same research here. She has already published 12 scientific papers in different prestigious peer reviewed journal with the total impact factor of 16.5. An important aspect of her life is family -- her husband, teaching in a public university and two kids, one son and one daughter.
